The Post-College In Between

It's weird not having my life sectioned out like it has been in the past. The summer had a definite beginning and end because of school, but now that I'm out of school and I am self-employed (I don't work in an office) it has become really important to impose my own structure in my life. I wake up Monday-Friday at 5:30am so I can take my thyroid medication and then eat a bit or a lot before my first workout. I take my Armour thyroid sublingually so that I can eat right away.

I spend a lot of my day in sections. My life is completely formatted and without this I don't think I would function very well. When I get thrown off of my schedule I tend to lose it a bit. I feel unsettled. I need the structure in my life in order to get anything done. I do my cardio workouts in the morning and weight lifting later on. In the summer I bike everywhere, but in the winter, living in the Midwest, obviously not :(

The period after college is one of much frustration. Last week I went to the dentist and he told me, "When I was your age, it was much easier to be your age. Your generation got screwed." Thanks, as I struggle everyday on Career Builder and Simply Hired and Craigslist looking for a fucking job...can't be found. I want to move to California and most jobs want to hire within a 10 mile radius.

It's also a very difficult time socially. I find meeting a lot of people at this age is even more difficult. Due to my current self-employment I am out in society a lot and I have a lot of interaction at my gym, but meeting people with common interest is very difficult. I am not the early 20-something that likes to get smashed the entire weekend. I'm usually in bed by 10pm at the latest, I like to take care of myself and eat well, oh and I don't drink any alcohol. Other than an AA meeting I'm not sure where I can meet any non-drinkers my age and I'm not a previous alcoholic, so I'm not sure I would want to meet someone there anyhow.

What is the best way for an eccentric, young chick to meet people with common interests, other than Craigslist?
